What is CIMBS? It stands for Complex Integration of Multiple Brain Systems. It is a therapeutic approach that shifts the emphasis from symptoms, constraints and past experiences to activating and training the brain systems to strengthen its capabilities to make new. This approach encourages the patient to access the innate capabilities of individual brain systems, and disentangle emotional learning caused by previous traumatic experiences. The result is a brain that is retrained to be intentional rather than reactive.
At EmotiHealth we train healthcare professionals who work with a whole array of clinical presentations, to use this method of therapy with consistent results. We're passionate about sharing CIMBS with as many therapists as possible so that you can maximise your therapeutic effectiveness. This set of free resources introduces you to this incredible method, and hopefully stimulates your interest to explore CIMBS further.
We are delighted to share this course and our extensive online courses about CIMBS in advance of the forthcoming book, Complex Integration of Multiple Brain Systems In Therapy, by Beatriz and Terry Sheldon. This title is part of the fantastic Interpersonal Neuro-Biology Series edited by Dan Siegel and published by Norton.
